Mixars Duo Vs Numark Scratch

Hey guys,

I've been looking into getting a mixer to use alongside a pair of Reloop RP8000's & a Phase system.
I already own the Reloops, but i'm going to purchase the Phase system as well as one of the above mixers.
I have an NS7II which i've had about 5/6 years so i'm familiar with Numark products.
I also have an SX2 & when i play out at my other residency i use a Nexus 2000/DJM900 set up with an SP1.

I appreciate the Numark Scratch hasn't been out long, but has anyone used both & can offer the pro's & con's of both?
I'm not familiar with the Mixars brand & haven't used their products before.

I just bought a duo mk2, and it's getting returned. Why? Because the galileo fader is a loud ass fuck piece of junk. Honestly, it has a great feel and is precise as hell, but the end bumper clicking is the loudest I've heard besides a vestax fader. Coming from an innofader, I'm not gonna pay that much $ to hear that shit. But overall a nice mixer besides that.

I have a mixk duo mk2 and it is a very good table. The faders have no complaints. The crossfader I have not used much since I use it for the session and the sound quality is very good, I have no complaints.
I recommend it

Anymore insight on these two? I can basically get a mint almost new mixars duo for just about the same price as the numark scratch. I just have never put my hands on either of these two mixers.

Basically trying to see if anyone actually has on hands experience with both and what are their thoughts to which is better

Hi, i am in the same situation, trying to figure out which one to choose. Is there any new feedback on these two mixers ?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

You get a little more features in the duo, but you get the better effect controls on the scratch.

One big complaint in the duo is that the post fader effects don’t work on the crossfader so if you like scratching with effects on, then go for the scratch.

The mk2 duo also has a pro x fade fader rather than an innofader so that may sway your decision.

I have the setup your planning to get and i amazed with the Numark Scratch. i did get the DUO however i didn't like the layout and compatibility with serato however the scratch is a different beast altogether.

It's just my preference, i have always had numark and still use my Pro TT-1 turntables without fault. My Phase are amazing however i'm new to DVS and not sure on the serato software as I've been spoiled by Mixxx and testing Virtual DJ also. the biggest issue for me is music library building and live streaming. Mixxx and virtual DJ have streaming via ice cast built in and serato dosen't so have to use Butt as and go between. I run my own audio streaming company and this is a let down however the workaround works so cannot complain to much.

Mixxx is better then serato for me but there no templates for scratch, so i have to manually map all the knobs and not all the knobs are working so back to serato for now.

Hope this helps but, get the scratch and you wont look back in anger you hear me say.
