Well all hope so i been posting the photo leak everywhere. Rumor is we’ll prob see it introduced at DJ expo in August. If it’s fake I’m gonna be super disappointed😬
DJ Tecniq 2:33 AM - 25 July, 2019
My only instinct is that it is real it’s been a year since the ddj1000 dropped maybe they felt Serato support was needed. We all know every DJ would want this for Serato in their arsenal.

I wouldn't get one without trying it first. I have the DDJ 1000 and it feels cheaply made. It works OK, but I don't think it will last a long time. The build quality on my SX2 is better.

I’ve heard the DDJ-1000 feels and sounds great. I doubt they are changing anything hardware-wise for the Serato version so this may not be the one for you.

I HOPE THEY ADDED A HARDWARE CROSSFADER CURVE ADJUST....BIGGEST FLAW ON THE 1OOO. ESPECIALLY SINCE THE MIXER IS ADVERTISED AS STAND ALONE.

oh wow that’s not on the original 1000?

I have no idea cause i don’t use Rekordbox lol but curious

On the DDJ1000 the xfader cut is software only, but i admit it's very accurate, the xfader is a Magvel fader..

Using Rekordbox on both controllers, the 1000 sounds the same as my SX2. I haven't had it long enough to make a thorough comparison, but as of now, I don't hear any real differences. The differences in SQ that you heard about may be due to the software itself. Using RB and Serato on the same controller (SX2), they clearly sound different. I don't like to say one sounds better, because its subjective. Generally speaking, Serato has a warm, forgiving sound to it, and RB is more clear and detailed. But keep in mind, its just my subjective opinion, and it wouldn't surprise me if others have a different take on it.

As for the build quality issues, the jog wheels feel cheap. You definitely know they are plastic. Its probably due to the fact that the wheels are not one piece. The top "record" portion of the wheel sits a little above the base. You push down on it so it flexes enough to make contact with the base. Very similar to pushing down on a warped record. They work fine, but just don't feel like they will hold up over time.

The pitch sliders were also a surprise. They work well enough, but don't have a smooth feel. Plastic rubbing on plastic, is the best way to put it. That said, I get the feeling that they may improve with some use. I so, I'll post.

I really don't know if this is an issue or not, but the play/pause and cue buttons ring when you tap them. It sounds like a spring is vibrating.

Overall, I think Pioneer should have used better components, and charged a bit more for the controller.

So this is just suppose to be a second version of the ddj 1000? Which to me feel like a tonka toy. Come on pioneer tighten up!

I switched back & forth between Serato and RB a couple of times, landing back on Serato. I used the DDJ-1000 and I wasn't all that impressed. The readout on the jogs is gimmicky. I found myself still looking at the computer instead of looking down to see time remaining, etc... It's all a matter of personal opinion, but I like the SX series.

Can't second that enough!!!! IMO the one thing holding it back from near perfection. I contacted Pioneer on this and they were pretty dismissive like it's unnecessary because dj's don't use it, adjustment is in the software if needed, and that they had no intention of allowing mapping.

BUT they did eventually make an official mapping for it to the sampler volume button. So there's that option in case the SRT also does not have a physical control...which I would expect considering they have been leaving it out of many of their recent controllers.

The ddj1000 card is something fair, you have to lower the profits but it distorts the signal, something very common in the controllers, I already had two and step of these devices, the recordings came out as a churro, I prefer an external card or a certified table

Here’s what I got from my dj retailer. This should be enough confirmation. Boom!

Steven,

Great to here from you!
I believe Pioneer will announce it within next 2 weeks.
Until then we cannot release any additional information.

Kindest Regards,

I had the mcx8000 that worked with serato and had to lower the profits so that it did not saturate the signal and the dddj sx without comments, that if it is garbage, here to use sdj the recordings will not go better depends on the hardware
popnwave 2:27 PM - 31 July, 2019
Wtf is up with that stream of consciousness..
deejdave 11:32 PM - 31 July, 2019
