Cool tips for using midi controler with Serato? Anyone?

Just coped myself an Akai LPD8 midi controller....

Just wondering if any one had any cool tips of what i can do with it...I mean of course i know all the basics...triggering samples, triggering cue points, Loops + Loop roll...But does any one have any other cool tricks that they use it for?

Searched You Tube but couldnt find any good videos with Serato & the LPD 8...
If anyone knows of any pass me the links...

Hey there DJ BRAVO, good purchase.
I have had mine about 3 months and love it.
I have not been able to find any real usefull stuff on Youtube etc, in that time so i will share what my limited midi experienced self has arrived at.
I have mine mapped for multiple functions by using the presets section of the SSL midi setup menu. Setup-> midi-> presets-> new-> assign your midi functions to the LPD8 inside Scratchlive as you want then save.
You can have as many presets as your imagination allows and can load them as you need.
I should foremention that i am purely (as you americans call it) an EDM DJ although some of the outstanding mixes i have been privy on to on this forum have given me food for thought (check out Michael Basic's shizzle!).
I have various presets for library function, loop roll, cue points, effects (a hot tip for effects is to assign the super knob to one of your LPD8 rotary's and the turn it all the way down when not needed therefore avoiding a pad to trigger the effect and use the pads to assign what deck to effect), SP6 sampler (the rotary's are great for pitch adjustments on accapellas) and full internal mode for those dark moments without decks.
I seem to change my mind about midi assign positioning (what goes where on the controller) almost daily so this is a work in progress.
Unfortunatly the big issue for me is that you need to touch your computer to change these presets inside scratchlive when you want to change midi functions.
The LPD8 has 4 internal programs or "scenes" that can be triggered by the controller itself (which would be perfect for for presets changes) which no matter how hard i search or try to figure out eludes me.
Can anyone please help me on this as?
Anyway i hope this helps a little at least.

you're better off creating one preset for the LPD8 and assigning certain groups to specific control banks on the controller.

so have one bank for cues, one for loops, one for sampler, etc. then all you need to do is switch between the control groups on the midi controller instead of switching it in the software.

I agree but should i use the Akai supplied software to achieve this?

i've never used an lpd8 but i have an lpd32 shouldn't it be as easy as setting up the first template, switching the bank on the controller and setting up the next one?

Not that easy, thats the first thing i tried. Gotta be something to do with the Akai software i think. Anyway, taught myself every thing else to do with Djing so i guess this is one of those "figure it out for yourself" type of things...
Thanks anyway dj_soo!
