i remember someone posted on these forums that the black chips off very easily and is not worth the extra money. id rather go with the silver ones.

Not True i have a black label coffin thing is sick ive had my mine for a min still looks good. coffins are bond to get F****Ed up in time and on how you handle them

i have em and the rails where the cover meet inside are already gettin scratched,
they look sick but in time they gonna look like they been on a world tour all fd-up.

Just put my order in.... Guess if it chips after time I'll just pull out the trusty Sharpie!

I've got classic aluminum and black coffin, and i KNOW that as much as i transport my gear around, that i would definitely have a noticebly scratched up coffin right now..If you are getting it and plan on leaving it set up somewhere or not transporting it much then i cant lie, it would be Sweet.
But im constantly loading and unloading my coffin and i dont see the point in paying more for it to get scratched up

I considered getting one, then saw the price difference, and couldn't fathom spending more $$ for a simple color difference... Got the Odyssey turntable battle style case, with the 10" mixer, and laptop slide out with SL1/SL3 tray. It's pretty sweet, its a shame the thing weighs 57 lbs with nothing in it. It's got wheels, and thank God for that. I better start working out again if I wanna lug this big ol' thing with me to my gigs often.

think i'm about to cop these... got black 1210m5g's and a black vestax 08, so these are gonna look pretty sleek all together...

Ill post some pics when i get off work and get the tables in em, i got it off of guitarcenter.com. I was kinda pissed though because normal price was 399 but they had it blemished for 350, so i figured id use a memoriial day coupon and get it for 300, well when i used the coupon it added shipping back to it and made it like 375 with tax. SO looking back i prob shoulda just used the coupon on a new one and i think i could have kept the free shipping and got a new one for ruffly the same price.

I opened it and inspected it for a few minutes and didnt see any major blemishes, the sticker looked used and i was missing one screw on the side but not enough to loosen anything up. The only thing im wondering about is the laptop slide shelf, is it supposed to slide all the way to the back to take it off.....seems kinda odd but ill see when i get it set up tonight

So after a few years, are the black edges still black?

I've been wanting to start mobile gigging again with the old 1210's and need a coffin.

There ones that light up seem pretty cool too, but cost a bit more.

3+ years for mine and still looks good. Sure there are minor scratches here and there, but nothing huge, just normal wear stuff.

mine have white marks from hitting countless door frames. I have the full coffin and i have noticed that the bottom has cracked in a few places, anyone else have that issue? this is after 3 years of light use...
