I think you can use the alpha track feature (isn't it called that?), but I'm not sure as I've never used CD-players...
However, you can't use effects, key lock (a kickass plugin is coming though) and other things that will mess up the control signal.

Alpha track is cool and everything, but if I had to decide whether to use Alpha track vs. SSL... I'm sure I know what I'd pick. I think you can use Alpha track w/ it anyways, 'cause the Denon stores the music in memory (I think).

You can use the alpha track providing you use both outputs on the Denon and connect each one to one side of the SL1.
To be honest this is a bit of a waste of time, you can mix on SSL using just one CD deck anyway using input reverse

(To eblaze)..I'm pretty sure that the 3500's Do Not have the alpha track feature but the 5000's do.

Denon S5000 has the Alpha track and the S3500 does not. The S3500 has a next track reserve, which buffers the next track so you can mix into it from the current one.

You will not be able to use this on the FS2. It works by buffering off the same CD only, not the next track on the computer.
