Hello everyone,

I've been using SL now for a month with no real problems until I switched computers a couple of days ago.

Whenever I plug my 1200 into Inputs 1 or 2 of SL, I get an angled line in the Calibration Scope going from the bottom left corner to the upper right corner. And the Platter Speed (the number in the upper right corner) is eratic, jumping all over the place. This happens when the platters not even moving. This also happens WHETHER OR NOT my turntable is ON or OFF?!!

When i put the needle on the moving record I get two circles with a ton of static. I am unable to select tracks to play as well.

Also, when I press the estimate button it jumps to the far right.

I've isolated my turntable, and it seems to work fine. I plugged it into a reciever and everything sounds fine. No unusual noises or loud hums of any sort. Also, it is a brand new 1200. I just bought it today. I thought my last turntable was causing the problem.

I've also isolated the computer and it doesn't seem to be the computers fault either. I went back to the computer from which SL did work, and I am getting the same issues.

If it's not my Turntable or Computer, it's got to be the Interface, eh?

Also, the only thing connected to SL is my turntable and my computer. And the only thing connected to my computer is SL.

Anybody know what could be wrong?

Also, I wanted to say that I've isolated my turntable, computer and SL. They are away from any other equipment and wires so as I'm sure it's not picking up any huge ammounts of noise from anywhere.

Does your 1200 also have a new cartridge/headshell ?
What do the scopes look like without the deck plugged in?
What does the threshold go to without the deck plugged in?

One other thing to try...what does audio played from the turntables through the SSL box (powered on, of course) sound like?

Thank you all for your responses, but I think DJMark is on the right path. When I connect my turntables directly to my reciever I get a perfectly clear and crisp sound. No problems whatsoever. However, when I go through my SL Hardware to my reciever I get a bad humming along with the audio. It definetly is my Hardware. Would there be any other conclusion???? Anyone????

Same thing on both sets of inputs/thrus?

Are you powered from a computer, or from an AC adaptor? If you have both the AC adaptor and computer hooked up, try removing one at a time and see if the humming stays or goes away. Also if you haven't done it already try swapping out the set of cables used to connect the "thru" jacks. (This is all trying to eliminate ground loops/bad cables as possible sources of hum).

Unplug your turntables and then estimate your noise theshold setting, does it still jump to -24dB.

Thank you all for the help. It turns out that my box might be busted. I sent it in to be checked.

Thanks again.
