Is this software going to be compatible with any DENON Hardware such as the HD2500, hc4500, SC2000, etc.

Hi DJ Louie7,

here are the list of compatible controllers for DjIntro> serato.com

In terms of any future controllers, we just can't say at this stage I'm afraid, but contacting the hardware manufacturer (in this case Denon) would be the best idea :-)

Whitelabel.net file playback is a feature of Scratch Live and ITCH only.

What is the diff between the serato dj intro 1.0.0 and the 1.0.5????? please tell me you can trigger the samples from the controller, or at lease the keys from the laptop like the SL.

1.0.0-1.0.5 the VCI-400 and the Pioneer DDJ ERGO-V were added as controllers.

Features in Serato DJ Intro 1.0.5:
Serato Sync locks tracks together for seamless grooves
Serato Crates make audio file management easy.
Advanced iTunes integration
Cue points allow you to quickly access specific parts of songs
Loops repeat selected sections
DJ-FX will enhance any DJ set, delay, filter and reverb, three FX chainable for each deck
Sample Player can play up to four short samples, audio loops, sound effects or full length tracks in addition to the two tracks you’re mixing

I would also like to note that the feature set of Serato DJ Intro is essentially locked as it stands. While there may be some improvements in future, features such as sample player control and keyboard shortcuts are advanced features only available for ITCH and Scratch Live.

What's the difference between Serato Intro & Serato Itch & what's the point of having 2 such seemingly similar systems, please?
phatbob 12:33 PM - 27 January, 2012
They might seem similar on the surface but Intro actually has a very limited feature-set compared with Itch. And plugins like Serato Video which is out in March for Itch will never come to Intro.
Biggles 12:46 PM - 27 January, 2012
Thanks Phat Bob!
What do you think is the pint of DJ Intro then? Is it the midi-mapping secnario perhaps?
In all honestly, all I personally need is sync, grids, samples etc... if it can do that, it should be ok. Funnily enough tho, Itch is exactly packed with features is it?
Do you know if Intro can handle 4 channels (ie with the VCI400)? The lack of a preview channel (or spare channel to have atrack lined up on, for safety while checking other tunes) on Itch with VCI300 is a bummer (I know I can get 4 channels witha diff hardware & Itch).
Cheers m8

The point of Intro is that it is totally basic software for beginners.

There is no way you'll see 4 decks on Intro.
Biggles 2:35 PM - 27 January, 2012
Thanks for the "Heads Up" dudey.
We need Itch for the VCI300 - it makes sense no?
phatbob 3:16 PM - 27 January, 2012
Vestax chose not to licence Itch for the 400, it's clearly designed to be compatible with lots of software, not the 1-1 mapping style of Itch.

I expect they'll bring out a similar controller for Itch in the future.
Biggles 3:36 PM - 27 January, 2012
That is unbelievably annoying!
Thanks man.

the vci-300 is an itch controller. from your require features, it seems you are not a beginner so i suggest you only look at itch controllers. see here serato.com
Biggles 12:24 PM - 30 January, 2012
Thanks pdidy! Definitely not a beginner!
That's a bummer cos I want the VCI400 - mainly for the extra decks, but built-in effects also good (although I have the effects module for the 300).
Cheers mate.
