I am now on my second VCI300mk2 as I thought there was something wrong with the 1st one I purchased. It's not the unit, it must be the software. The left side works fine. The right platter sometimes works hen I first start it up but will only play song correctly and then fails. It will not respond to the "Play" command, and the odd time it does, the "scratch" function does not work either. I had showed two people who use this all the time and they have said that I am doing everything correctly and it is a software issue. I am using a brand new iMac I bought 2 weeks ago. The VCI is 3 days old. I have reinstalled the software 3 times now. No success. I've been told that ordering a power cable might help. It's on order...but I'm kinda crewed until that arrives...and what if that doesn't help???

It sounds like you are having a problem with the sensitivity setting. Please see here on how to fix it. The only difference is that you have knobs instead of a screw.

I read all that before and I wish that solved the issue but it doesn't at all. And one side works perfectly...

Hi DJ Veronica,

that's a strange one. Did you have exactly the same problem with your previous unit? Have you tried the 2.1 beta? Can you give that a go by downloading it here> serato.com

Let us know how you go with that

I just got my vci300 yesterday and am having the exact sme problem. Left side works fine, right side doesn't respond and stays red. Mine seems to be behaving exactly as DJ Veronica's as described in her first post. This behavior started the second time I turned it on. Please help. I have a gig next Friday and there is no way I can send this back in time to get another.

Holy shit my left platter isn't working! The right one works fine but the left turns red when I press on it but does nothing! In scratch mode it doesn't scratch when not it scratch mode it doesn't nudge! I have a gig tonight this is really bad.

Correction: In scrach mode when i press on the platter and it turns from blue to red the track pauses but that's it I cant move it!

I've seen the moderators on this site reference the sensitivity controls over and over. They DO NOT help. I just tried my vci300 mk II again, and got the same result. Left platter is blue, right platter turns red and stays red the moment I touch it. So currently I have one blue platter and one red, with both sensitivity settings set at 12 o'clock.

This has got to be a hardware problem. I hope it's not though..

My problem resolved itself. Ironz I suggest that you open your VCI-300 yourself tinker around clean up a little in there blow on some sensors lightly. Here's a demo: Watchwww.youtube.com Sending it away can take months to get back so this is really the only practical solution.

I got mine working too. Fine tuned the sensitivity controllers. Apologies to the moderators. You were right! My left platter is perfect at 12 o'clock, while my right is perfect at 10.
