Downloading songs from iTunes while playing at a gig

Anyone have any issues doing this? I'm a little hesitant since Serato recommends that wireless should be shut off.

It's not ideal, using wifi, and indeed any other software like iTunes whilst playing on Itch is always risking a dropout or something.

With iTunes you're pretty safe to guess its not a corrupt file your getting, but there is always a chance of that too.

Having said that, if you have to do it once in a while to fulfill an important request or something, it's not the worst thing in the world.

Thanks Bob for the quick response! I've actually been downloading special requests through my iPhone and playing it through another channel just to be safe. I was just wondering because my buddy uses his white MacBook with SSL and downloads off of iTunes with no problems. Is this the most professional way to do this? I use a MBP quad core 750gb

I've done it plenty of times using a Jailbreak app to tether my iphone to my MBP and haven't had issues. I used to do it all the time with VDJ with seemed to be a pretty lightweight app on my computer and didn't have any issues as well. Try it in a safe environment and watch Itch's performance bar in the top, right corner of the screen. iTunes runs ok on Macs but I couldn't stand it when I had windows machines. I have my NS7 plugged into my MBP with wifi, bluetooth, usb speakers, and dual monitors setup at home all the time and have yet to crash it since going to 2.0.

I do it from my Ipad w/ 3g. I use a browser called Atomic Web Browser. It lets me download mp3's directly from websites (mostly mymp3pool.com) and save it to the Browser's Documents folder. I can then go into Itunes with the ipad connected via usb and go into the Apps tab and copy it to my Music folder on my mac.

I use Atomic Browser as well. Some of the UI elements are a bit fudgy, but it is a far better and more powerful browser than Safari!
