I had a small collection of these "City-Wide Records" compilations in 1992. That's when I first heard this track.

Nah! No underlying argument or anything, but whenever I hear this jawn, I think of Nicky Blunt.
Isn't the guy who did this some UK personality or something?

I actually looked it up after reading this thread... The voice is actually an impression of a guy called Alan Whicker who used to present a travelogue program on TV in the UK.
I've got a copy on 7" somewhere, always kinda liked it but didn't realise it had ever been popular, and especially not on US radio as apparently it was!

That's still one of my favorite jams.
I love it NOW, but when it FIRST came out, I was like WTF...lol..
I don't necessarily still hate it...but I won't be mad if I don't have to hear it anymore. lol
