I recently "rediscovered" listening to whole albums! Some great memories...
Since there is a thread about songs we're glad we don't need to play, I figured we should have one for albums we love to listen to!
Some recent CD rips I dug out:
Goldie - Timeless
Mark Farina - Mushroom Jazz
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing
GZA - Liquid Swords
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head

Hip Hop classic!
... and my most recent CD that I added to rotation in my truck was "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" - Raekwon. Another CD that I've recently pulled out was "The Dude" - Quincy Jones.

Yes! That is a classic!
The first time I opened for Jazzy Jeff, he had just switched to Serato, so he was looking to rip CDs and vinyl. He went thru all my crates and CD binder. When he spotted the Raekwon album....

I've had Iron Maiden - Powerslave on constant full rotation in the whip.
It's one of those iconic album cover artwork records too.
(Eddie carved into egyptian pyramids)
Something to be missed about holding the album actual cover in your hands, listening to the album in it's entirety, as it was meant to be presented by the artist - telling a story almost.
That is becoming a lost art nowdays with mostly hit singles dominating sales numbers.
Also cool to see what other poeple in here are listening to...

I hear that. Pop artists these days are pumping out 1-2 "radio songs" but the rest of the album sucks. It's all a bunch of fluff to fill a50-60 minute time space so the public feels justified paying full price for the album.
Creed had some good B-Side tracks!

Here's one that barely anyone has ever heard of....
Eric Tagg - Dreamwalkin
It's one of the best Blue Eyed Soul albums ever, maybe Top 3 to me. Similar to a Bobby Caldwell, but more on the Jazzy side. His chord changes are ridiculous throughout the album. He worked closely with Lee Ritenour, so has a similar vibe to his music. The ENTIRE album is great to me, maybe one song is a bit too Rockish for me, but the rest is great. "Marriane" is the main single that folks may recognize.

Underworld for sure! One of the first electronic CDs I ever owned. Couldn't get enough of it back in college. Plopped it in a few years ago when I got married and the wife looked at me like I was crazy... 20 minutes later (still track 1 BTW) she's booty shakin' in the kitchen to it making dinner! :)

Man, wish I had jumped in this thread sooner. Lots of great albums mentioned in here, and it's really cool to see what we all listen to for pleasure.
Totally with you guys who mentioned Pretty Hate Machine, Endtroducing, Dummy, 36 Chambers, Led Zeppelin IV, Powerslave, Dark Side Of The Moon, Songs In The Key Of Life...so many other gems.
The idea of a fully-realized album, where each song has its place and flows into the next perfectly, seems like a long lost art these days.
Here are a few of mine where no skip button is required.
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse
A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step
Alice In Chains - Dirt
Tool - Lateralus
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast
Janet Jackson - Janet
Def Leppard - Pyromania
Massive Attack - Mezzanine

Illmatic
The Chronic
Cypress Hill (self titled)
36 Chambers

On a related note, I find it interesting that I hardly know the words to any of today's hip hop, just familiar with the bridges and choruses so I can drop in the next one. The albums above I can still recite practically word for word almost 20 years later. The intros to these albums are especially burned into my mind.

even though a couple of these were already mentioned,
tool - lateralus (or any tool album really)

alice in chains - facelift, dirt
beastie boys - pauls boutique
metallica - and justice for all
days of the new - days of the new 2
black sabbath - heaven and hell (i know, it's not really sabbath without ozzy...blah blah blah.... great record)
gwar - america must be destroyed
guns n roses - use your illusion (1 and 2 back to back)
also, not long lost, but
florence and the machine - ceremonials
it's a great record from start to finish. was digging through the dollar bins at my local record store recently and i saw the 180 gram pressing right at the front of the new releases shelf. threw it on my stack on a whim, and now it's one of my new favorite records. sits between mahalia jackson and etta james in my "awesome soulful female vocalist" crate. 1st new release i've bought on vinyl in a minute....
