Serato Software Feature Suggestions

What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Saving SP-6 Banks / Saving Snapshots

This isn't a problem...its some feature suggestions. I didnt know where to post this, so I am hoping that the support team would know where to forward this.

I previously used M-Audio's Torq DJ software and just recently decided to convert to Serato since Torq has been sold and seems to be getting demised. However, Torq had some pretty nifty features and Im curiuos if Serato has any plans to incorporate the following features in the Serato DJ software.

1. The ability to load the SP-6 sampler bank in one shot. Torq allowed you to save all of the songs/samples that you had loaded in their 18 Cell sampler as a "single bank". This allowed you to Load a "bank" all in one shot rather than having to load files individually each time. Most DJ's Im sure will agree have specific samples that they usually will load together. Being able to load them all in one shot would be a great addition.

2. Snapshots. Torq had a feature that allows you to save ALL of your effects, EQ settings, Fader Settings, everything, in something called Snapshots. You were then able to midi assign a key to it so that you can instantly apply ALL of those settings to a deck. Then, when you release the key, the settings go back to what they were prior to pressing the key. It was truly amazing and allowed the DJ to quickly apply all of those settings to a particular deck. Note: Embedded in the snapshot was the information as to which deck(s) this snapshot should be applied to.

Although they had other features, which probably are proprietary, the two that I mention above seems that it would be easy enough to incorporate into a furture release of Serato DJ and doesnt seem to be prorpietary in nature.

Please forward this request to the appropriate group within Serato.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback Derrick,

I will add your requests to the future feature list :)

We have a specific area in our forum for Serato DJ feature requests, so I will move this thread there now. That way other people can jump in and agree / disagree with your ideas.

Cheers!

I am in the exact same boat as you dghrael, been with Torq for about 5 years, just switched because m-audio got sold and the new owners are abandoning Torq and the Xponent. For the most part I am really enjoying Serato DJ and the DDJ-SX, but you are right, Serato could stand to harvest some of the functionality from Torq. If any of the features are proprietary, they could probably buy them up cheap being as how Torq is pretty much obsolete as far as m-audio is concerned.

+1 for both SP-6 bank and most importantly Snapshots!
I am yet to uninstall my Torq software because I keep going back to the Snapshots. :) One of the proprietary feature that Derrick is talking about, I guess, are the X-Fader effects, but I can overlook them. Snapshots and the ease with which we could use VST effects are things I am finding hard to overlook. Having to go through the Bridge just for VST is tiring (for both me and my laptop :D ) as compared to how I could do it on Torq. I will (check for and) make a separate post for the in-built VST capability, but here, once again, "Snapshots, pretty please!!"

i like the bank load for samples. if bridge is a ways away, this feature would be a band-aid for a while. it would definitely help with live remixes. :-D please please please!!!!
