Still having the same issue here with DJ....

The fix is to "re-format".... seems gimmicky to me as this isn't an apple issue but a serato issue that the developers couldn't find a real fix for, other than a reformat... LOL

I just started having this issue as well when I upgraded to SDJ Version 1.7.3

I've been wanting to but gigs keeps popping up. I hate upgrading and not having time to test it out. I may just have to do that though and keep my fingers crossed nothing craps out.

just reinstall your computer a few times and they eventually will appear. I have a 2014 MacBook Pro and it even happened with the latest version I think it's just a weird bug they've never figured out. It happens every now and then when I try to run video but a restart fixes it. Why this happens I have no earthly idea...

I finally upgraded. Still happening. However, I find it only happening when I connect via VGA into one of those converter boxes for SVideo. When I use HDMI, it shows the preview panels. Unfortunately, one of the bars I play at has an old SVideo connection and I have to use one of those little converter boxes.

I also notice that when I have the transition effects set on random, it does not do random effects, it tends to gets stuck on 1-3 different transitions only. This in not such a big deal as the preview panes for me though.

Been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

I just got a new laptop this week and I didn't restore from time machine install. So with a fresh install of dj and SSL and video it still has these issues.

A restart fixes it but that's not helpful when you are changing over with another dj.

Oh well, glad I'm on mix emergency anyways. It's just annoying when editing things in offline mode.

No wonder Serato video is on sale this week. Lol

Like I said I think it's just a bug they never cared to address. Cause the funny thing is this "never" happened with VSL👌🏻 If it's not broke don't fix it🙌🏼

I had the same problem, just bought a license for video this morning as well! I haven`t tried retsarting the laptop to see if it fixes it though, gonna give it a shot tonight!". But yeah Serato, a 150$ licensed software with a bug this big is annoying!!!

OK, yeah a restart does fixes it. Guess I just need to show up to my gigs early to restart my computer a couple times?? WTF??

lol I told ya. It has to be a bug cause this never happens with Mix Emergency👌🏻 Serato video needs a good update there's issues they still haven't fixed from previous versions that still occur in the latest version it's buggy shit. No wonder why it's on sale💯

This bug is especially fun when you are swapping out with your opening dj... let's just restart again in case sleeping your computer with a track ready causes it to leave blank windows.

Luckily only one of the bars I DJ at has me doing videos. Otherwise, this would really be annoying.

i just bought serato video and having this issue wish i read this thread 1st i will be contacting them promptly for a refund... a restart doesnt fix it for me... i also have another bug where the audio fader is correct but video fader seems to be reversed and no its no settings set to that i checked

Im Frustrated . wasted $150 on serato video and its not working... serato slow to help me... they know serato video no longer works correct why are they still selling it?

i wish i knew of all these problems before i bought it ... all i want is a working serato video or my money back so i can buy Mixed emergency, which runs flawless on the same computer (running the demo)

Yeah that bug has been around 2 years(?) at this point? Some people said a simple restart fixed it, sometimes it was a complete reinstall. Others just moved on an DJ without it. I use ME but I don't use the preview windows these days for most gigs since I've seen everything so many times, it adds nothing.

I personally have not had issues with SDJ 1.8 running video on my 2014 Macbook Pro. However with previous versions i did have the video screens blank but after a restart everything worked normal. I just did a 1080p video recording with SDJ and it was flawless. Make sure you have at least 100 gigs free on your drive. Sorry you are having issues.

I have more than 100 gbs free on my hard drive . And if I didn't that shouldn't be a requirement... but I do ... I'm running a 2012 macbook pro . Yosemite . 16 gb ram. Nvidia video card with 1gb dedicated ram .500 gb Samsung evo 850 ssd boot drive and a 2 tb USB 3.0 and thunderbolt external drive (7200 rpm) with videos . But the videos used in the test video are stored on the book drive .. .. I think I meet and exceed the requirements for serato video ... I completely uninstalled (With app zapper) and reinstalled every thing and it's still not working.... think about this... why would serato be selling mixed emergency , their biggest competitor . Because if you can't beat them join them ... M.E. demo works flawlessly on the same computer serato video doesn't work on ... . They know serato video has major bugs that will cause it not to work for many people .... and they know people WI'll go to the working stable program which is M.E. it's not rocket science ... it just proves they know they have a flawed product ... at this point I don't even want a refund then . Just give me a credit for the 150 I paid and I'll pay another 50 to buy M.E serato already got my money that should be all they care about cause that's what it seems ....

Oh it's 2.6 ghz quad core i7 also .... left that out .... I would appreciate some help help from serato. After they saw my specs and the trouble shooting steps ain't work they stopped helpin me.. cause the only other option is a refund ...

is there a way i could unlink my license and sell it to someone else and have it linked to their account? that may be my only recourse cause serato refuses to answer me

Yeah, you'd have to go through support to do that as well. You're probably better off selling it for a loss and putting that towards ME just to move forward.

Hey i am having the same problem. its only happened since iv updated to serato DJ 1.8.1.

Roll back to 1.8 unless you have hardware that needs it, or it fixes a bigger bug you were experiencing.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I recently upgraded into a newer Macbook Pro with the i5 processor to better suite Serato DJ's hungry CPU needs and Serato Video is the only plug-in not working correctly for me. I'm getting new preview window for the left and right decks and none of the effect drop downs are working either. When I run ScratchLive with video I have the preview windows and video effects available. What gives? I've tried the solution with going in User/Library and changing the .serato only to find that extension is not in the list.

^ try clearing out your history of played files and restart I heard this has helped some with video screen loss.
