NEVER.........Buy a 62 or buy a Pio and a SL box. Rane has to make their money too. And they make a damn fine mixer.

You don't seem to understand the basis on which Scratch Live was developed...

Anyway Scratch Live is better off without any ties to Pioneer's crap products.
ontime1269 2:16 AM - 1 July, 2013
It would probably cost $3500. LOL.

I thought rane had exclusivity, but when Pioneer made that controller I got confused

Hahah, that sounds about right after the Pioneer and Serato mark up. Actually cost to make - $300. hahahahahah

Pio newest mixers feel very cheap and plastic. I played on a nexus a few weeks ago I had my 57 in my gig bag didnt like how it felt so I ripped it out of the booth and as I picking it up noticed how light and cheap it felt my 57 has more ass then that nexus. anyways just say NO to Pio not even sure how it got industry standard in the first place.

jus my opinion

SCRATCHLIVE, the software, is exclusive to RANE.

serato dj and serato intro.....can be licensed to everybody else
Mr. Goodkat 7:58 PM - 1 July, 2013
rane ttm users just cant use any other mixer, because they cant cut and scratch (damn near function at all) on any other mixer.

i used to be that way, and then i realized i didnt wanna either lug my mixer everywhere and that i wasnt going to be able to always use a rane, so i learned to use a pio.

not true I can function on Pio when I have to did it this past weekend the upfaders suck for cutting of course but the crossfader works but its not butter like the rane. I normally take my 57 everywhere it fits perfectly in my jetpack so its always with me. Booth and time permitting I ripped that pio out almost everytime except when there is a DJ on after me and I want to go home

The Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus weighs 16 lbs. The 57 weighs 8.5 lbs.

I have owned both and the Nexus was pretty solid as far as construction.

Was this continued though? I was hearing rumors at NAMM that this arrangement was due to end soon.

Rane has exclusive rights to Scratch Live - it's why Serato had to develop Itch and later DJ instead of just making Scratch Live compatible with controllers.

I think you're confusing preference with an inability to use a mixer. I can use any mixer, I just prefer to have a Rane at all times.

Maybe that's when their first agreement expired. They aren't signing lifetime agreements.

ok guys.. im well aware of the rane 62, i currently own one.. i also owned every "worth while" mixer under the sun at one time, as much as i love my rane 62.. i would love a second option! why not have a pioneer option for serato dj mixer? jus' sayin...

never once have i said that the rane 62 sucks.. just lookin for an alternative. i played on rane products for the last 23 years.. (had to throw in the years to let yall know lol. yay)

yes im aware.. or we all think that Rane has an agreement with serato for ssl, we can all assume.. but how many people really know for sure.

anyways it would be great that pioneer would make a mixer for serato dj... its the same damn thing as scratch, its like honda and acura.. scratch being acura and serato dj being honda.. same engine yo!!

anyways... im in need of a back up mixer.. or just something different to play on.. bored i guess.

cant a dj dream?!
skinnyguy 2:52 AM - 4 July, 2013
Traktor mixer...or any pio mixer....with a sl box.
DJ_X_Trodinaire 3:21 AM - 4 July, 2013
Get a 2nd 62 with skins lol

Mod a pioneer mixer add a built in SL box.
DJ_X_Trodinaire 3:22 AM - 4 July, 2013
or a DDJSX = pioneer mixer/controller with a serato product ;)

You could buy a DJM-T1 or DJM-900 and have an SL box modded into either.

Im excited Im selling every DJ mixer I own since the 57 is no longer supported time to step my game up.

Time part with my 57, 909, 707...and Im not sad about it at all. That 64 looks dope I wonder if the faders are the same

Man, you're going all in with this, lol.
Mighty Dragon Sounds 4:13 PM - 5 September, 2013
The one big grip that I have abou the new Pioneer mixer is the one thing that I have to like about it....

Although there are less buttons and control features on the 900....... I noticed with the 61 and 62.... the extra buttons became more of "Ooops" buttons.... Especially when in the heat of the moment fast passed mixing with alot of Micing, I would accidently bump a button that would just train wreck everything.

Yep Im going in although most likly I will just a get a 62, I dont think I will get the 64 I dont need a 4 channel mixer but it does look dope. I dislike pio 4 channel mixer althought I do like the easy access to fx I just dont like the way the faders and knobs feel I alway feel like pio 900 type mixer slow me down.
dj_soo 9:32 PM - 5 September, 2013
62 and 64 have similar effects setup to the pioneers and are superior in some regards (flexfx buttons instead of having to twist a knob to select channels).
DJ Remy USA 9:44 PM - 5 September, 2013
ohh really see I have played on them but not long enough to really learn the mixer. Dont worry all mixers are hitting ebay when these mixers drop. I really dont want to part with my 57 and it needs new fader caps and new head phone jack its loose wonder how much that will run me.
Discobee 9:45 PM - 5 September, 2013
$2299 is the retail price point. Several sites offering $150 on pre-sale orders, so $2149.

I actually prefer the knob over the FlexFX button; and the sound of the onboard Pioneer effects is way better imo

crazy looks like im getting a 62 I cant hack that much for a mixer. Im still made there is no empath with SL3 built in but I guess the 62 is as close as Im getting.

hate that knob personally so I guess it's a preference thing - and I find on the 62 at least the sound comparable if not better for some effects (although pioneer does have more available).
WarpNote 6:17 AM - 6 September, 2013
Agree with dj_soo.
Reverb, Echo and the filter on 68/62 is probably the best Ive ever heard on any club mixer...
Discobee 9:04 AM - 6 September, 2013
Flanger sounds terrible, the volume reduces when all the way wet. Not the case with Pioneer. I'll give the Echo to Rane, but no ways on the Filter.
Niro 11:11 AM - 6 September, 2013
I like the filter that way, I can actually mix with it.
WarpNote 5:41 PM - 6 September, 2013
The filter is waaayyy better on the Rane mixers!
Mr. Goodkat 8:08 PM - 6 September, 2013
the filter on the 900 is really bright, my only gripe. THe 800s wasnt quite such a db jump IMO.
dj_soo 8:48 PM - 6 September, 2013
the dedicated filter knob I like much better on the 62 - especially since you can change the resonance in the software.
