I uploaded two wav files, from the same song
one before import in scratch live
one after import in scratch live an build overvieuws

I noticed something very strange; the original wav is 10 times bigger than the imported one...?

hey josh, I'm still waiting for an answer. you are probably very busy, I understand, no prob.
for the moment I found a temp. solution; I can run now two versions of SL (1.6.1 & 1.7.1) on my laptop. I import my new wav recordings (from vinyl) in version 1.6.1 and close the program. Then I open version 1.7.1 and rename/organize the new songs. Strange but it works.

But I still hope there is a simeler solution...

Hi Steven, what application are you using to create the .wav files? If there are any setting related to the type of .wav produced (Like SoundForge has, for example) could you please post the settings you're using as well?

We've confirmed the behaviour you describe, the files you sent are now being looked at by a member of our development team, we'll have some answers and hopefully a solution for you soon...

For recording records on my hard disc, I use PRO TOOLS LE 6.1 (digidesign, M-box). This is actually a program to 'make' music... But very helpful to record vinyl directly on a computer. After a recording I must convert (in pro tools) the pro tools file in a wav file. The settings there are 'stereo interleaved' (make one stereo signal from two mono (left and right) recordings), 16bit (bitrate)

The songs I buy from itunes (in stead of my cd's I used to buy), I first burn them on a cd, then rip the cd directly to wav with RAPTOR AUDIO 1.6.

The file I send you, was an itunes song converted in wav. But with vinyl recordings in pro tools, there is the same problem.

I played in the beginning with 1.4, but there was the danger of dragging songs in a playing turntable... When updating to (than new available) 1.6.2, the problem I discribe, started. Normally when something on my computer runs fine, I never update. But the improvements in 1.7.1 are so helpfull I really want to play with it...

I hope this was a bit helpfull... I'm not that kind of 'computer man'...

By the way; Scratch live have so improved my sets, in many many ways... I'm always one step ahead to the normal 'vinyl' dj's. Exept the sound, a bit less than vinyl...

Im new to the SSL but I have the orginal version and wanted to know what to do about the poppin and clicking sounds and do I need to download a more up to date version.

What description do you see in the status bar when you hover over them?



We recommend all users run the latest version. However your problem could just be calibration problems?
