Serato has been crashing as of late when I click click on "Setup" within the software or when I hit the "panel select" button on the DDJSX. I uninstalled 1.5.1 and reinstalled an older Serato software but it is still crashing.

Please help - I have a big gig tomorrow and these crashes could compromise the show.

I have the Crash Log available.

Right - I downgraded to 1.1 and it is working smoothly. However, I would prefer to be able to utilize the most recent update. When can I expect a fix? Is this a common issue?

Hi Argonaut.Wasp,

This is a weird issue, and I have not heard of this issue before. It's good that you have a stable version to work in, but of course we would like it if you could use the latest version.

Are all your files analysed? Do you have any corrupt files in your library/database? Even one corrupt file may be causing this issue so make sure all of them are removed.

Do you use iTunes? Are you able to switch "read iTunes library" off for the time being?

How many songs and/or crates do you have?

Do you have any external hard drives? Does this issue happen with or without them connected?

Scott,

Not all of them are analyzed- my itunes library is huge and I didn't think it would matter if I am only playing tunes from selective itunes playlists. I have not found any corrupt files within the database. I was using itunes in 1.5.1 - but to ensure that the software worked for my gig I downgraded to 1.1.1 and have been playing my tunes without iTunes (just off my internal HD). I have not tested with an external HD - and about 107GB or 13,000 tracks.

If all your files are not analysed then you will never know which tracks are corrupted. I suggest analysing all your files, deleting those that are listed as corrupted and see if you still experience the same results.

Long story short, I think a corrupted file, corrupted crate or corrupted preference file could be causing these crashes, and I want to rule out corrupted music as the first step.
