Hi there,
Ok so i am looking for some help.
We now know that support is coming for this controller (Denon HC1000S) and to make it fit in more with serato dj i am looking to get ALL the leds replaced with blue ones. Think it would look cool and match Serato DJ more.
But i have no idea what type of leds these are.
So if anyone can help that would be great.
Here is a picture of the board with the original leds on.

Any help would be amazing.
If we crack this will upload videos/guides on how todo the Mod. and the outcome of it.
Cheers
Woolsey.

I have sent an E-mail to Denon to see if they can give me the specs of the LEDs but i do not hold much hope in them replying.

Ok so got some leds they are SMD LEDs i have found blue. Got them and they are same size and look 100% the same i just didn't know the power. These are 5v which sounds about correct as usb is 5v.
Just need to get one soldered on and try.

Well most Blue LED's got 3.5 to 4V power. But i think there will be resistors in front of the LED's. The orange LED's might be also around 3.7V i think

Ya i was trying to find what the original ones are but so far no luck.
Will change a pair in one button and see what the outcome is.
These were the only leds i found that looked the same.
As most links are to china with min order of like 20.000 lol.

I need to try and track down three of those buttons/microswitches as they are stuttering or not always triggering.

I once used them to order four new PFL buttons for my X900 mixer and although the buttons was light plastic, charged me £5 delivery to pop them in a tiny jiffy bag.
It wouldn't have been too bad had the four PFL buttons cost £3.20 in total!
I doubt they are bespoke Denon switches so will try and source them from elsewhere like you have out of principle.
I may even think about doing the LEDs too while I'm at it.

I'm tempted to get a new auto loop knob as mine is slightly bent due to a fall.
The switches are just a few pence each which is alright as long as they don't charge a fiver delivery again!

I just checked... standard delivery on a DNHC1000S switch costing £0.61 is £5.40.
Go to hell Charles Hyde. Your unreasonable delivery charges haven't changed in the three years I last used you.

Yep it does look smart! CUE's & LOOPs - Blue. AUTO LOOP - Red. TAP - White.
More in keeping with SDJ Colours.

The LEDs 'anode' (+) is the longer pin and the cathode (-) is the shorter pin, right? I'm trying to remember... I'll Google it.

there not normal leds there SMD they just sit on top of the board and you dab a small amount of solder on. to hot and kills the led.

10:16 PM - 4 November, 2013
Ahhhh. I'm on it and I'll order the blue and white too.
What is the current draw?

No idea lol. i have done half the controller, just got the other half todo now. seems to work fine so far. They do seem brighter than the orange tho. so you never know may run into an issue.
i did try to get the spec off denon but they hadn't a clue lol

Well I think with the amount of LEDs on some controllers, it should be fine.
I can't wait to see it.

I just clicked the little 'more...' icon and the specs are there. Is there two voltage settings depending on the polarity of the LEDs?
I see forward voltage and reverse voltage. I think I'll look it up. It could make a difference in current draw and brightness.

I just noticed that I have totally different rotary controls on the loop size selection on my HC1000S.
The spares at the bottom of this page relate to your model. Mine look very different and it was bought from Decks. I must have an early revision?

Perfect. 10/10
I'm tempted into doing it myself now I've seen all lights on and running perfectly.
Loving the blue/red/white. Think I'll grab some LEDs and do the switches at the same time.

it is hard you need a temperature controlled soldering iron, tweezers and a magnify glass. and someone to help.
i used two soldering irons so i could hold one each side of led while the girlfriend had the tweezers lifting off the led.
