wavelab5 has an "import dvd audio tracks" function in the tools.

just use soundforge and play the dvd in your comp. once its playing just hit the record button and it will record anything playing over your soundcard.

YOu Can Also Use Cool Edit to import audio from the dvd movie file. The only downfall is that you have to rip the entire movie or file, which means you most likely will have more audio then you intended. You can always trim it down once you have imported it. I LOVE this Serato ish. Thanx Rane Peace !!!

yo the best one ive found is called im too platinum you can get it from a website called two cows its about a tenner!

i use my mixer(djm500) for all the audio equipment i have in my room, so i just chuck the 1/4 jack from the back of my mixer into the mic slot and bingo bongo can sample anything that goes through my mixer! hope that helps a few people

The best way to rip audio from dvd without a doubt is ripping the .vob file to your HD then use a program to separate the video from the audio, transcode the audio from AC3 > WAV and then to MP3 its alot harder but is the best way to do it if you want quality.

creative media source has the option of 'recording what you hear', as well as several others. you can set up your sampling to be as high or low rate as you would like (standard wav files, for cds, for example, would be 44.1khz at 16 bits per sample, i believe, but you can crank it up if you want, but sampling faster than it comes out is only going to increase your file size), as well as what file type you want (wav, mp3, 2 channel, 5.1 channel (wav only) for example) to record in.
getting that software should be a lot easier and faster than dealing with the entire vob file thing. skip to the part you want to record, while watching it, record it, and you are good to go.

side note: because the same program can record from a number of sources, you can just plug into the pc i/o port (x-fi platinum sound card comes with this, i'm sure some other cards do as well) and record whatever you want into whatever format you want. i've been ripping my vinyl into pieces with the same software using the rca outs from the deck straight into the port.
