Has anybody used this combo yet?

You know what funny is its supposed to be made with Serato in mind, but I do not see it in the hardware or accessories section.
DjCity 4:39 PM - 6 February, 2014
Would be great if serato officially supported these.

I'm still not sure which mixer to pair with these.

Rane 61?
Rane 62?
Rane 64?

The 61 has the sound card but lacks the midi controls. 8000's have the main midi covered.

The 62 has most midi covered.
The 64 has all midi covered (I think).

The pioneer is a good one too with just the soundcard.
I'm just not a fan of that mixer yet.

Thoughts on which mixer to go with these tables?
Mighty Dragon Sounds 4:46 PM - 6 February, 2014
Well I am stil waiting on mines to arrive from Europe..... I should have just gotten one of my battle buddies in Eruope to buy them and send them to me...

But when everything is said and done..... Reloop 8000s with my Rane 62. Should have enough midi buttons to control anything and everything I need.... If I need more for whatever reason I have my Serato Remote.
defanutley 4:23 AM - 8 February, 2014
Im trying to work out the Midi in SDJ now.
I can see that the turntables are enabled in the midi tab but can't get the XML file to load.
Mighty Dragon Sounds 2:04 AM - 11 February, 2014
PSSL says they have them in now....... The first batch I guess according to their site... they better HURRY THE HELL UP!!!!!!

Been waiting on mine for over a month.

So far, rumor has it and from when talked to the guys over at AVMAXX, there are only a few models that have made it to the USA so far. Everyone's on backorder... Come on Europe!!!!
defanutley 3:27 AM - 11 February, 2014
I got mine for $700 per turntable and have been selling in Australia for about a month.
I can get them to work with SSL but not with SDJ. Hopefully reloop will make fresh mappings for SDJ

how you like em so far???
defanutley 3:47 AM - 11 February, 2014
They no different to the Stanton 150 or the American audio htd 4.5 as they all come from the same factory. The pitch Led display is handy. The buttons work well as does the scroll dial. I can't fault them so far. they work great with SSL but need new mapping for SDJ

The motor feels the same as the Stanton 150???

From the specs the weight is much much less.... them Stantons were just about 40 lbs...... (USA) and according to the specs on the Reloops they are around 9.5kg or around 20 something so that would be a big relief.
defanutley 5:14 AM - 11 February, 2014
Sorry motor wise.
Weight wise I didn't pay much attention
DJ Quartz 2:53 PM - 11 February, 2014
From what I've read and seen, it's the same super-oem platform but they have customized buttons, functionality with their design.
DJ Quartz 2:54 PM - 11 February, 2014
Serato DJ will need full midi support taken from SSL to support it, or they will have to work with Reloop to add support for the functions and release in an update.
defanutley 4:05 AM - 5 April, 2014
Im not sure how, but I download SDJ 1.6.1 and it works flawless with my RP8000s and serato remote.
cheers put your feet up and have a beer
DJ Quartz 5:00 PM - 5 April, 2014
Correct, because support was added. :)
Asu 10:33 AM - 24 April, 2014
was thinking of pairing these with a 61 but does the 61 have MIDI? or should i just go for a 62.

i do a lot of video too so i need the midi on the mixer
DJ_X_Trodinaire 2:00 PM - 24 April, 2014
If you need a lot of midi buttons go with the 62+rp8000

The RP also has user assignable buttons.
DjCity 2:18 PM - 24 April, 2014
I use the 64 with the 8000's.

I really want that 64. I just wish there were some nice compact units to control 2 other decks other than CDJs, or if they would just open up that midi panel more so I could map whatever.

Reloop RP-8000 review & comparison to Technics SL-1200M5G by EYECON | agiprodj

After 4 hours of messing about with the RP8000 and Serato DJ, I just can't get the midi buttons to work or light up. The Reloop website shows no firmware updates for the reloop and Serato state its plug and play now with Serato DJ. So I plug and I can play with the turntable but no buttons light up and loops, cues etc do not work. Please can anyone help! Using Reloop RP8000, SL2, Mac Pro, Serato DJ latest upgrade….

have you tried the new 1.6.3 update....also make sure your midi device is active in your macbook settings

These Reloop Rp-8000 turntables are so unstable. I have Serato DJ 1.6.3, running latest Firmware (0.13) on the decks, newest MacBook Pro (10.9.5) and a Pioneer DJM 900 SRT. If I walk away for a few minutes and come back the time code is unstable. If I reset Serato and restart it all it works right again. The needles and vinyl is not the problem. Sometimes after I mix continuous for a while it starts to act crazy again. What is the issue here? I pay a lot and just want it all to work right. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "unstable" and "act crazy"?

My guess is if you are restarting serato and its fine again, its not the turntable.

Just another reason to stick to Technics.

PLX have also been getting some negative feedback. There is a fellow that dissected the insides...thus showing inferior parts and installation. And the saying "they just don't make em like they used to" holds true. Literally trying to re-invent the wheel.

Unless you want some added features...

But in this case, I doubt its the TT.

That doesn't mean they don't work...I've heard these few complaints...but they work well so far...RP8000 multiplies those issues due to having more to deal with technically.

It's kinda like all these new cars...the older ones were more reliable...the newer ones with all the bells and whistles have so much that fails electronically.
AKIEM 6:03 PM - 16 February, 2015
Technics fail too - its a myth that they don't.

My RP8000 are still working bang on.
These turntables are kicking goals every time I turn them on.
AKIEM 11:21 PM - 17 February, 2015
I have had zero problems
Niro 7:11 AM - 18 February, 2015
Not sure why no one has come out with a turntable controller. The main issue with the reloops and pioneer is the dampening and feed back. Some like the CDX, but with current technology.

Thats something I haven't understood for years.

Where's the controller?
Niro 6:50 PM - 18 February, 2015
I mean, it's like they don't have any DJs working in any of these companies making DJ equipment. Devon tried, but instead made a 9" platter and mucked it up by focusing on all of the other buttons and features that are repetitive and unusable on DVS. Something basic, a 12" platter, pitch fader and cue points if you want. Make it like a Turntable, so you can use your own slipmats to control the tension.

I have also thought about making an after market device turning existing turntables to the above mentioned controller. I like the feel and control of a turntable and a 12" platter, but not all of the negatives, wobbly platter, needle skip, inaccurate pitch (just like signal calibration, I think it would be easy to do a zero, min max calibration in the software)....etc.

:)

When was the last time they Lit up? you may have to re-add the MIDI file if it isn't in the correct folder, just a guess
mixtycal 12:17 AM - 5 May, 2015
What midi file is that ?
Where do I get the midi file from?
In what folder do I put it
I am using a Traktor Z2 mixer which I have mapped already
on my Seratodj SETUP>MIDI it says RP8KUpdate.

Never have had a problem with my RP8000's since day 1. If the timecode gets messed up and you have to restart - that's a SeratoDJ problem not a turntable problem. Not sure what happened with the midi function problem that marcol & mixtycal got. Haven't experienced that either.

There are some horrible feedback problems with the PLX vs Technics/Reloop that have been experienced and documented. I would stay away from those until Pioneer fixes this issue in their MKII version (whenever that is)

There's no feedback issue when using serato,zero...only silence....in thru mode, you'd have to have the master maxed and channel at 3 o'clock to hear any hum from the plx...no one i know plays out like that...but the techs have lower feedback in thru mode. @ max volume.

The PLX's work just fine.

I feel you. But for me, I don't care about with Serato or not. I keep myself away from anything that can't compare to a Technics out of the box without Serato ever being used. And that major flaw is a deal breaker for me. Every one has their own vice ;)
