Twitch Playback is very distorted and the speed drags by around 20% in SDJ. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the issue, without any success.

The unit works fine in Itch. Anyone else having this problem?

Auxiliary audio does not work at all in SDJ

(???) Is no one else having this issue?

Hey DJ Demolition,

Thanks for your patience - we've been flat out busy here. I have conducted some testing and AUX input was functioning correctly.

- Have you tried perhaps using another AUX connection cable?

- Have you tried using your unit with another computer to distinguish whether the issue is with your computer or unit?

Cheers

1- No sweat.

2- No, I'm working with a top quality cable, and interchangeably with my V7 setup. It works just fine when I plug it into my regular mixer, ...and it works just fine with the Twitch, if I'm using Itch instead of SDJ. So, it's not the cable.

3- No, I have not tried another computer. I kind of doubt that is the problem, but I don't have any way of checking that at this time, because I don't have another one fast enough to run the software efficiently. I'll look into it, regardless, but there should not be an issue anyway... As I say, this computer works great with Itch.

Still no Aux. audio in SDJ. However, the dragging-distortion issue has mysteriously gone away... (?)

Hey DJ Demolition,

Thanks for your patience, we've just been flat out. Still can't figure out why this could be occurring for your Novation Twitch.

- Out of chance, have you tried using the Novation Beta Audio drivers? Below I have attached a link to the Novation Beta area:

beta.novationmusic.com (click link)

Locate the 2.6db3 drivers and try install them if you're up for it, its worth a shot. Let me know how you go with this!

Cheers

Yes, I'm already running the beta driver. I have tried them both with no change in performance. There are other people on the board here with the same problem.

I can't use Serato DJ anyway. As far as I'm concerned it's still in Beta it this time. My worst complaints; no instant start for my V7s, and no decent vertical wave form view, as in itch.
Tyke! 2:24 PM - 8 March, 2014
I seem to be having this issue too.

Tunes play fine when device isn't connected but as soon as it is it stutters at 10%(estimated) playback speed with massive distortion.

I've tried this on two macbook pros and an imac and its the same. Only since mavericks update though.

Maybe a hardware issue but I don't think so,

MacBook Pro
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Software OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)

Any ideas?
DJ Demolition 6:49 PM - 8 March, 2014
The problem is in DJ. I'm not sure how it works, but it seems DJ can configure itself internally, automatically, and sometimes it gets it wrong.

I cured mine, by alternating back and forth between two different controllers (twitch, and V7's).

After playing around with DJ for a few weeks, it is my opinion the the software is not yet ready for professional use, and should be considered a beta at this point.
Tyke! 8:01 PM - 10 March, 2014
I'd say beta is a fairly generous grading at this point. :)

Having trouble rolling back to Itch too. I think it's time to try another controller/sw setup.
DJ Demolition 10:05 PM - 10 March, 2014
Tyke, try increasing your latency cache setting in SDJ setup. I was able to get Itch to drag and stutter by setting mine too low the other day. It's worth a try.
Mr Wilks 8:21 AM - 11 March, 2014
The AUX bug is confirmed as not working too which they are looking to fix. I can't see when though.
Tyke! 12:32 PM - 19 March, 2014
Not had a chance to test this yet but will report back... thanks DJ D :)

Try downloading Apple Quiktime. DJ will not play some files without it installed.

TWITCH playback is fine when run from SERATO ITCH

When TWITCH is run from SDJ 1.6.3 and 1.7 BETA audio is heavily distorted and slow, both through the two headphone jacks and master output. Have not tried booth.

Have tried both TWITCH drivers 2.34 and 2.5 with no success.

Have tried SDJ 1.6.3 on a second LENOVO X200 running Win 8.0 64-bit OS and had the same problem.

Answers SERATO please ????

I used to get this when the SDJ software buffer and Novation hardware buffer didn't like each other.

Try changing the Novation audio settings in the Twitch driver and maybe if that doesn't work, try adjusting the one in software.

I'm not with my Twitch so can't quite remember but I remembered it worked for me. I used to have to adjust the SDJ audio buffer to 3/4 of the way along to the right.

I'm not sure if any of this helps but it's worth a shot.

Cheers Mr Wilks
Had to slide the latency buffer across to 20 to get it to behave, 10 or 3/4 wasn't good enough.
I cant find were to adjust the Novation Twitch's latency and google isn't helping me so if you have any tips on where to find that so i can try to adjust their as well that would e sweet.

Cheers again

No worries.

I don't have the driver installed due to a HDD crash but think if you run a program search from start for "novation" it may show up there.

It us a generic notation audio driver so doesn't reference the twitch IIRC.

My setting mine to 512 in that driver it fixed the issue. I think I could drop to 256 actually but that's just from memory.

DJ Demolition,
How are you any further progress , I have now having same issue and just installed this week, I cant even think about using this for my parties now.. Thank in advance

If your using windows
Type in 'novation' in your search bar
Open the driver interface and adjust the latency settings (try halfway)
Open sdj and adjust the latency settings (again try half way)
Don't rush it and remember to shut sdj down before Re adjusting the Novation settings.
On a mac it's not a 'stand alone' driver and Sdj handles the latency (due to core audio)
Search the forum if in doubt as there has been loads of discussions about it

I was able to get around that particular issue (see my earlier post in this thread for the explanation), but I use Itch, and don't even try to use DJ anymore. As, it is rife with issues, and it would seem the Serato could really care less. It's still beta software in my opinion. I.e.. I haven't even opened it in months... Sorry, good luck.

I just blew the dust off of my Twitch and fired up SDJ 1.7.2, to see how it would perform with this new version. Result: same old problem. The track I played was 140 BPM. yet it played at 96 BPM. I found this out by analyzing the recording, which I have attached above.

problem with serato dj and novation twitch controller ...song dont want to play properly, it's dragging.. i havent this problem on old macbook white, but now i use samsung R525 laptop.. it works fine with ITCH .. but NO serato dj ..i also use scratch live ... i saw that many guys have similiar problem.. why dont you help us somehow please ? :( thanks
DJ Demolition 2:28 PM - 12 February, 2016
SDJ doesn't like the Twitch controller, and only works on certain computers.

My advice is to stick with Itch. It gets the job done, and won't let you down.

You may not need to worry about it much longer, anyway. Serato is doing their best to eliminate DJs altogether now,by introducing Pyro. That should give you an indication of just how much they really care about our wants and needs.
