Pioneer DDJ-SZ availability (who has one)?

Ok, I got my SZ from Soundware, Newcastle, UK on feb 28th.... I was surprised when the store told me they had received 1 unit.
It looks like all the other stores don't have any and they are offering pre-orders from the 'first UK shipment'??
Also, I posted on the Pioneer DJ forums regarding the sensitivity of the jog wheels and the post has been locked by someone from Pioneer stating:
"Pulse Mar 11
The DDJ-SZ is not yet released to the public, therefore it will not be discussed as changes may still occur.
As for the lack of sensitivity knobs, the platters auto-adjust on power-up and do not require the same knobs as the SX. This is also true for the SB and SR."
This is someone from Pioneer saying that it's not yet released ???? What is he talking about? Should I even have my SZ?
Please can you post here if you have a SZ and where you got it from (country etc)

Kross321, what if you've entered the twilight zone and Pioneer planned all along to have you as their sole ddj-sz test subject. The in-display jog wheels have two cameras, and the wheels themselves scanned your finger prints :o
That would be some NSA level stuff for sure!
Seriously though, I still haven't gotten word about the ddj-sz here on the west coast united states, still checking back on YouTube, and Google to see if any news is coming out on shipments going out. I hope it isn't literally end of the month but before then!

I'll have mine tomorrow!! I can't wait. I just got a surprise an email telling me that they have shipped mine and I will get it tomorrow.
I really thought Australia will be the last to get the DDJ-SZ. Just in time for a good session this weekend!!

I just noticed this from Pioneer USA's facebook page:
www.facebook.com
DDJ-SZ Launch Event @ Sam Ash Manhattan, NYC
Thursday, April 10, 2014
I am wondering if the April 10th date means the units will be shipped out closer to the April 10th date? If so, then we still have a full month to wait!

That can't be right. If the store I got mine from got 10 units, surely some shop in USA will have them in stock by now.

Not entire sure how much weight to put in to the date of the NYC event in reflecting the true shipment dates for all Pioneer authorized dealers.
In all actuality, it does seem possible the event could be after the first round of units are delivered.

Yes I reckon it's just the "Official" launch of the DDJ-SZ and doesn't reflect actual shipments taking place all over.

Even here in Canada, we have to wait for 2 months after the official release date before our local music/dj stores get the new products.

Wow that sucks - I would hate Pioneer if I preordered and had to wait 2 months post delivery just because I lived in the neighboring country. I'm wondering if some Canadians could just cross over to the US and purchase and bring it back over the border?

That's not the only thing. Aside from our GST applied on all purchases, US price still lower than ours on the original price... even after converting foreign exchange rates.

At the moment don't think that it's all smooth sailing. I have issues with my platter too. Especially the left deck. I have the same issue as Kros-ddj.
Just think all the guys who are still waiting for their DDJ-SZ are in better position than the ones who has them now. The platter issue is not just on a single unit. I have the same issue. I do hope Pioneer can fix this.
I can't believe that my cheap DDJ-SR has adjustable sensitivity on the platters. And the DDJ-SZ has none.
It just totally sucks that we're still waiting for Pioneer to fix this issue. If they don't fix this issue I will have no choice but to go the Department of Fair Trading and get a refund.
My advice to anyone who are planning to buy the SZ is.... wait until all issues are fixed.

Actually the length it should be 430mm (43cm) because of the crossfader curve knob at the front and the inputs at the back of the SZ.

Shadow thank you on the right did you account for the night to the knob? And what I'd the night to the jog wheel?
Can you measure the feet and how far each is set back from the length also what is their size?
Thanks for your assistance

Hi Yaitanis,
The height allows for the jog wheel and the knobs. About the feet, there is none. Well kind of none. for the feet of the SZ it has four rectangular pads 40mm (4cm)W x 25mm (2.5cm) 3mm or 4mm (.3cm or .4cm).
The bottom of the SZ slopes down from the width of 870mm (87cm) to 800mm (80cm) and the length slopes down to 410mm (41cm) to 375mm (37.5cm). I'm measuring the length from corner to corner of the SZ. I said 430mm (43cm) before because I included the curve knob and the inputs at the back of the SZ.
The feet are 640mm (64cm) apart measuring width wise and 290mm (29cm) apart length wise. But honestly with the feet (I really should call them pads) being only 3 or 4mm thick I see no point in worrying about considering them to be added into the case/coffin you are making. I would just have a straight bottom with no indentations for the feet/pads.
If the SZ has actual feet like the Technics then maybe it's worth integrating them into the bottom of the case/coffin. But since they're just rectangular pads that are not that thick I personally won't worry about them.
Basically what you want is to have a snug fir width wise and some removable panels at the back and front of the case/coffin.

One last Question I promise!
What is the distance If I am looking Down from the top of the unit on the side(s), what is the clearance from the ends to the first Buttons. I am mostly concerned with crushing the Pitch control (Right) and fader (bottom) but have an idea for a bracing foam to catch the edges all around the edges.
Thanks again!

The distance of the pitch fader (right) from the edge of the SZ to the edge of the pitch fader knob is 20mm (2cm) and it's about 32mm (3.2cm) from the edge of the SZ to the middle of the knob (width of the knob is about 17mm (1.7cm)

Think I will just leave this right here for future reference...lol (trolling) serato.com
