Hey guys,
New Yamaha line just released! Looks like a small step below the DXR - less applied power, not quite as beefy tranducers, 2 channel mixer BUT lower price. Looks like it was designed to compete with EV's ZLX line. Available in 10, 12 and 15. Lightwer weight than DSR and DXR with the 10" coming in at 23 lbs and the 15" at 42. Price US is 399$ for DBR10, 499$ for DBR12 and 599$ for DBR15.

Interesting. Those are street prices you posted b/c I see $899 for the DBR15 on the site.
I would think you can get for less than 599 too.

They are Yamaha's answer to the EV-ZLX series. I have both DXR and ZLX so I am interested in how these will sound.

Thanks Al, I bought my DXR15's because of you :) They have made back their cost in the first year and are the only speakers I use without subs, even though my ETX12P tops sound pretty good by themselves.
I have a set of ZLX12P that I like using as tops with a single ETX15SP sub or I use them as ceremony fills. I think the cabinets on the ZLX are actually better to keep looking good than the smooth finish on the DXR. I hope Yamaha did not go cheaper on the DBR cabinets.
I really wish Yamaha would make a sub, that competes with the ETX15 and 18SP, QSCKW and JBL subs. Yamaha is a great audio company!

How does the ev etx12p stack up against the yamaha dxr15 for bass response?

It doesn't go as low on the bass. Both are very good sounding speakers. The ETX hits you a little harder at high SPL.

I officially have a DBR12 on order. Also planning on picking up an MG12XU mixer in the near future. Hoping the DBR12 comes in today so I can do the testing/comparing and Youtube review shortly. will keep you guys posted...
