I like Pyro as a handle little app for a bit of fun - can't get it to login to Spotify though says incorrect password or username but it isn't as can login to Spotify app no problem! - can't seem to find any online support for app either so can't fix it at moment đ

Hey Vmix350
Just to cover off the basics - you are using Spotify premium and not the free tier? If you are on the premium tier, can I ask you to try the following:
- Use Safari to navigate to accounts.spotify.com (spotify currently uses Safari for the Pyro login process)
- If you are signed in; sign out, sign back in, then go to Pyro and try to sign in.
- If you aren't signed in; sign in, then got Pyro and sign in.
Let me know how that goes as we've had one or two reports of this and aren't entirely sure what might be happening just yet.
Cheers, Aaron

In the Pyro app, is there a reason for the different colors in the queue? Is there a significance or menaing of the red to orange to yellow to white? I know they do not represent BPM groups. Is it supposed to relate to the harmonic keys?
Aaron E
11:44 PM - 29 August, 2016
Hey George919
It's just to give a visual feel for the queue itself. The next tracks coming up are deep red to indicate they are at the 'hot' end of the list. The fade to pale yellow at the other end gives the 'cooler' impression. You have your 'fire' coming up next of course :)

Hi, new user here. How do I know when a track is âreadyâ to mix? If I press skip track too soon the current track will finish with a delay echo of its final note rather than mixing properly with the next track. If I wait a little longer it will mix fine. Is there a way to know when the track is ready for a proper mix?
Aaron E
9:19 PM - 30 October, 2018
Hi Silentpilgrim
No sorry, there isn't any way to know exactly when either a mix or an echo out will occur. It mostly depends on where the beatgrid of the outgoing track is compared to the incoming track. The beatgrids aren't visible so as not to distract from the audio waveform.

Hmmm, strange. Is this still happening?
It seems to be working fine here in the office. If you're still having trouble, open up a help request (green button to the right of the comment box) and one of the team will help you troubleshoot.

Hi Aaron, I did that and this is the response I had back
"It sounds as though you may be encountering a bug that has been raised by a number of users following the update to iOS 12.2. We are currently tracking this bug and trying to gather as much information as we can on it, but as Serato Pyro is no longer in development (and hasn't been for a while) its unlikely that we will be resolving this issue in a future update."

Hey Andy
Yes, I was worried that might be the case. Unfortunately Apple changed something in iOS 12 in terms of how access to media libraries preferences are handled.
Fortunately (or unfortunately) it only affects some people, with no rhyme nor reason as to which devices or specific versions of iOS 12 you are using.
As yet there is no resolution (we are not even sure whether we could implement a fix on our side as it's due to an Apple change) and yes, sorry as we are not currently developing Pyro there is unlikely to be a fix soon.

Having same issues with iPhone Xs Max (original X is fine). Serato has logged the issue.
As above, shame as it is so much better than running iTunes.

I tried three different iOS devices. After installing Pyro, the app does not ask for access to the media library. Could it be that installations of Pyro that were installed before iOS 12.2 still work because the iOS-Update migrated the permissions to the new standard? This might explain why it works for some and not for others.

My version of Pyro was installed a couple of years ago, so well before IOS12

Yeah, we did initially think that might be the case @Bunsel, but then more users came through experiencing the issue after having migrated.

On the iPhone 7 Plus where Pyro was installed before the upgrade to iOS 12.4, it still works. It doesn't work on the iPhone XR where Pyro was installed after the upgrade.
I installed Pyro on my 8 Plus with iOS 11, but deleted it in the meantime, i.e. Pyro was not installed during the upgrade to iOS 12.3 and 12.4. I reinstalled Pyro after the upgrade ==> no access to music library.
Is there anyone who installed Pyro on iOS 12.4 and where it works?
My theory is: if Pyro was installed during the upgrade, the permissions will be migrated. If Pyro is first installed or reinstalled on iOS 12.4, the permissions will not work and access to the music library will not be possible.
Migration of permissions during the upgrade may not always work:
@AndyG1964: Did you reinstall Pyro after the upgrade or was Pyro installed all the time (including access to the music library)?

My 7Plus had to be taken to the Apple store to get a cracked screen repaired. Instead of fixing it they gave me a new 7Plus with 12.4 installed. After restoring my iCloud backup I am still able to use Pyro.

btw: iOS 13.2 in combination with macOS 10.15.1 has so many bugs in syncing local music. Empty playlist folders, automatic playlists I never created, missing songs ...

IOS13.2 finally killed Pyro on 2 iPhone X's, and 2 iPad Pro's.
Can we at least just get a Spotify version only?
Any other alternatives other than paying $40/yr for djay's terrible automix?

pyro was a little side project for one of the serato boss's so he could have something auto mix music in the background,
like other serato projects, video, remote it has been casted to the sidelines and will probably never receive any updates

Currently Iâm using âParty Monsterâ from Steamclock Software. No mixing features, just crossfading. Clicking on a song moves it to the queue, instead of playing it instantly (perfect for parties).
But this app is no longer available on the App Store: steamclock.com
tl:dr: It canât play DRM-protected music (Apple Music). The devs clearly stated that in the app description. Users were complaining anyway. Ratings of the app went down. Devs removed it from the store.

Thanks! i remember pacemaker when it first came but its completely different now. Its actually a pretty awesome alternative and goes to show the potential of what pyro could've been.
Just unbelievable they want $5 a WEEK or $260 a year to unlock full version??? Lunacy!

I always manually update my ios for reasons like this. I use pyro as a way to have a consistent source of my favorite artists and i also love its suggesting feature which helps me find similar artists depending on what playlists im using.. Just got forced into updating my ios because apple and now pyro just crashes. I now have no way of accessing the pyro specific playlists iâve made (which btw I wish you could transfer over to spotify like how the favorites button does..)
I almost never write on forums but i use this app enough and want it functioning enough to try and reach out here.. Iâm sure iâm not the only dj out there that finds them self in a similar boat. Pyro is a wonderful tool for djs please update.
