Serato Software Feature Suggestions

What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Lets bring back the "Vinyl Scroll" in Serato DJ

Hello guys,
I've been using an old program so far but have started to play first sets with Serato DJ software recently. I've found out the Vinyl Scroll feature is absent. I tried to contact the Serato crew but they disappointed me telling they have no plans for putting it back but if there is enough interest from the community they will think about.

Does any of you guys have used this feature as me, or you ok with the controllers to switch between tracks, or okay with touching the computer all the time? Controllers are fine but in the club environment its always a chaos on the desks and that simple Vinyl Scroll feature saved me all the time.

I guess the reasoning is there are so many add-on controllers and scroll features on mixers now.

We basically all have to ask for it to get it back. I used to use it quite a bit myself.

DJ Quartz, thanks for your point on it!
Btw can you advise any controller just for switching tunes as smaller as possible (I'm an oldskool kinda mixing dnb dj / no hotcues or effect knobs needed)?

So the solution is to use an additional controller only for selecting a new track? :/

How is everybody dealing with the missing feature? No next song on flip, no vinyl scroll... I don't want to interact with my laptop all the time, I wanna focus on mixing!!
trafficdnb 9:55 AM - 18 February, 2016
same here but as there were almost no feedback from the community on this thread I think we have to deal with it :(

I was using a 57SL + SL4 combo for the longest while so then I got an DDJ-SP1.

But my advise is for everyone to vote on this because they go by public demand.

I've recently discovered this feature is now missing in Serato DJ, I thought I was doing something wrong. I agree Trafficdnb it was a great way of not always have to reach out to your laptop or having and additional piece of kit. As DJ Quartz mentioned the DDJ-SP1 is probably the way go. Seeing as this was suggested in February you probably have one by now. :)

next song on flip

that combined with Sticker Lock is a cool feature ... add next song on flip (sell some new 7" vinyl) and fix the sticker lock glitches.

ESKEI83 has a youtube video using these two features on SSL... posted many moons ago. it's still cool in my opinion.

Was a great feature. Would be good to have back.

A vote from me for this feature to return. I am still using Live because of it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah I've got the controller already, not DDJ-SP1 (it is too big for me) but an oldskool denon dn-hc1000. I've read somewhere in wouldn't work with Serato DJ but mines woks fine (automaps automatically).

But anyway I'm still for Vinyl Scroll to be back ;)

I've been using Serato DJ for a couple of years now and Scratch Live for many years before that.
Now I've upgraded to the DVS option so I can use my turntables again, only to find that the Vinyl Scroll feature is missing. I'm still struggling to understand why such a small but amazingly useful bit of code would be removed... ever!
Especially seeing as the Control Vinyl still has the special scroll section at the end.

Serato, please please bring it back.

Thanks.

Next track on the flip loads the next track by flipping the record over?

Yes, Scratchlive had this feature.
DJ CUT NICE 4:14 PM - 18 February, 2020
I just use vinyl scroll ''to load next track'' way faster then flipping the record over. I have it set to how I like it. Try it when you have time only in SCRATCLive, DAMM. I love it's so fast. Not sure if the new vinyls have the special vinyl scroll groove at the end of the record to load next track or are they still same.

Some times I will mash up fast mixes playing one/two bars of the track/beat then into the next for 1hr and all you do is just handle the record and needle for concentration, speed only looking down where the action is happening, even when doing normal mixing, cutting samples love using it, only in SCRATCHLive.

Sad SeratoDj left ''Vinyl Scroll'' out, Tried my friends brand new Rane Seventy-Two & seratoDJ using the knob, turn it then press it to load the next track . I find Vinyl Scroll way faster then using a midi controller. Plus the poor guys that are using non midi mixers having to use only the lap top to load next track so slow, awkward if using SeratoDj.

Shame I was invited to play a back yard out door hip hop jam night I had scratchlive and it would not find hardware to work with the Rane Seventy-Two as I now know now it's not compatible could not play my set was gutted.

The last officially supported mixers in Scratch Live were the 6x series mixers.

Anything newer is only supported in Serato DJ.
