What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Organize by multiple columns

Hi guys,
I did a search and nothing came up but sorry if this has been talked about.
I would like the ability to organize tracks by multiple columns that work together. For example, I also use a controller and VDJ for when I'm out at gigs and I have the ability to sort a playlist I'm looking at by Key and BPM. I use the Camelot Wheel number system so it will show 1A then lowest to highest BPM then 1B, lowest to highest, ect.

When I'm at home and practicing with Serato and my Turntables (So I can get use to them and start taking them out to gigs) I can only organize by Key or BPM and it makes it just that much harder to find songs that work together.

From already having real world experience using this feature I can tell you first hand it helps big time with finding songs quicker, and I have run into ones I didn't even think about that ended up being the better option. Also with Pulselocker now live, and if it already shows the tag info, it can be an asset.

Thank you.

I have a similar situation. I wanted it to sort by bpm and then album as I have all of my reggae riddims marked as album. I found a hack to get it to sort how I wanted to.

In your situation you could try this.

First, turn on the "Include sub-crate tracks" in your settings.
Then create a sub-crate for each Key and drop the tracks in there for each key.

When you open the parent folder it will be added in the order of the subfolders first and then sorted by the sub-crates sort method. So you should see the Key first and the BPM second.

Its not pretty but doing it this way I'm able to sort by BPM first and then keep all of the tracks on a same album together as well to keep things clean.

I don't brows the sub-crates. I just leave them collapsed and browse the top crate.

I do wish they added this as an easy option though.

Thanks for the idea but that's not going to help when I need to sort by genre then key or then bpm 3 minutes later. It's a pretty simple request and I see no reason as to why it shouldn't be included.

This does not work for me. Too bad I would really want to use this feature.

(I am running latest version of Serato DJ 1.9.4 with Mac OS Sierra 10.12.)

When I press CTRL or CMD and click a column, the reverse order arrow at top of column just changes, but it does not resort the entire column properly.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

So click 1 column, like BPM, first then hold command and click your second, like Key (Camelot) , all the keys will be in order from 1-12 for a BPM of 100. then again 1-12 for a BMP of 101.

I didn't have to change anything in settings it should just work but it all depends on what you are trying to sort with what

This is an awesome feature. Any chance you could sort by multiple columns? ie: tempo, then key, then genre, then artist, for example?

How do you turn this off? Seems like the two columns are now permanently linked together.

I love the fact that multi column sorting is available but I haven't been able to figure out how to disable it either! Anyone out there figure it out?

Yes! How to de-select the 2nd column? Inquiring minds want to know!

Exactly like how I’ve described above:

Hold Shift, command (cnrl for windows) click the one you want gone
