Repeated Serato Video Freezes

Have started a support ticket been days and no help yet I'm not sure what's going on but lately 1.9 SDJ versions haven't played well with video esp the latest release. All my videos are from legit sources and my Mac is a 2014 15" mbp w/16 gigs ram and nvidia card. Using about 20% CPU or less. The point is ppl just have to pay for software that doesn't work. I understand SV is ancient and hasn't had any updates but something should be fixed or otherwise discontinue the product. I've had video crashes but the SDJ program itself doesn't crash just the video application. Very unstable for video mixing purposes just want some help.

You see enough troubleshooting, do you really think you're going to do much other than annoy support staff with the 'tude?

I bought Video-SL eons ago, and moved on to Mix Emergency. It's a bit dishonest to say you "shouldn't have to pay" for something you've obviously used over the years but are only hitting issues now.

Well I'm not going to sugarcoat it SV has had issues since the last update. I was told on another Serato group on Facebook to start a support ticket which I have done which you clearly didn't know. So what? I bought VSL too the problem is these issues haven't happened with versions before 1.9 so what is my tude? My tude is i am not the only one with these repeated Serato freezes there are other users on the forum experiencing the same thing. So who are you to question me? It has been almost a week with no help.

Annoy support? I'm sure they are annoyed cause they prob hear the same thing from others users having the same issue as I🤔

i sumbit a request to support, they made me suggestions to fix this issues, I tried everything and nothing :/

i have not got help yet. I'm on a Mac and I'm getting Serato video freezes. Hardly ever has that happened till now.

It's comments like this that annoy support staff. Have you ever had the joy of working customer service at some point in your life? If you have, did you appreciate it when folks went beyond the problem with the way they interact and behave?

You can request for things to get fixed, quotes like the above are understood without being said, everyone wants their stuff to work. Being persistent is a great quality as long as you leave the backhand comments out. I'd be more annoyed as a new user/purchaser and having problems than someone who's gotten years of use out of software that's been neglected lately, but updated many times over the years with no upgrade charge.

It's not fair to new users to pay for software that is half assed I didn't ask "you" to help me. Ppl are buying Serato Video and facing the disappointment that it doesn't work or is buggy. Has it worked for the most part yes but with later SDJ versions it has gotten worse. I can't even attach a LIVEFX visual without the SV application crashing. My system is barely using 15-20% CPU.

I'm sorry you disagree but the truth is it should be discontinued or fixed.

1. Preview screens disappear at random
2. Video freezing
3. Can't do an image effect to main output screen.
4. Has a difficult time with qrtz files...

All of the above should of been fixed so you tell me what updates or fixes have they done in recent years. It's apparently not enough considering it's "still" occurring.

If they still weren't able to resolve your issue just ask for a refund bro.

Obviously you're not going to understand. I don't think anyone is debating that some of the long running bugs with SV are a pain in the but, and I think PC users are the ones who've gotten neglected the most over the years. For the amount of time you've spent posting about it on here though, you could have moved on the Mix Emergency (if not, you don't value your time enough!) and at least you have that option, unlike the Windows folks.

I have Mix Emergency the main point here is SV should at least be fixed for new users there is no excuse. They are paying for something that doesn't work to it's fullest. How is this the "users" fault. I can't see your point🤔

Checked my crash logs and in my user diag reports Serato Video has crashed 8x 5 of which on 1.9.6 & 3 with 1.9.5 and in my system diag reports Serato Video has crashed 18x. So either something is going on with my system or the application itself it makes it hard for me to perform when the SV application is constantly crashing and i have to refresh SV to get it working again.

New PC Serato Video user..
I used all the optimization guides, and everything mostly seems to run well after using LAV Filters, designating Serato + Serato Video to use my dedicated GPU, etc.

Performance wise, it's pretty good! Running 1080P h.264 vids at High to Best quality. Only time I notice performance hiccups is when doing Rewinds (I see my GPU ramp up from 40% up to 100% quickly doing long rewinds)

Crashes are unpredictable and unrelated to the video files.
When using the Media Crate, I'm having these issues:

1. Preview screens disappear at random
2. PNG Image Effect on Main Screen crashes the SeratoVideo.exe pretty frequently (especially when turning it ON while a video is playing... but will usually crash a few minutes afterward anyway).
3. Text Image Effect on Main screen crashes SeratoVideo.exe after awhile (15 minutes in my case)

These are strange crashes that don't seem related to codecs, video files, etc. I am not sure if it's related to the MediaCrate (which I'm using) or not.

It crashed more often when using ffdshow and a mix of internal/dedicated GPU.

FYI, I don't have the MixEmergency option... since I'm on PC.

I don’t have much experience with pc since I’m on a Mac however I’ve done a clean install of my OS which is Sierra and have not faced any video freeze issues as of yet. Everything has been working smoothly. A fresh install of your system may help. While Serato Video has its issues a clean install would probably fix everything.
