No the SL1 is a dinosaur compared to Windows 10. Time to upgrade...

The SL1 Still works on Windows 10. The only issue you may have is that you may have to run Scratch Live under Compatibility Mode for windows 8.

To do so, right click on the scratch Live Icon and look for properties. Change to Compatibility Mode to Windwos 8. Then restart the PC and try again.

you can have problems with usb ports and not recognize the hardware, there is no driver support for win10 with the sl1

The SL1 works fine on Windows 10. I can personally confirm as I have one as a backup to my sl3.

I got my SL1 working in Windows 10 twice today and yesterday.

Here's what you need to do.

Google search for RANE SL1 Windows 10 driver and download it
Download Serato Scratch Live 2.5.0
When you run Serato it you'll get a message informing you are missing xxxx.DLL file
Google search that error message, you'll see the fix is to download a .NET distribution file from microsoft.
Once you install this, you will be able to launch the software however Windows won't be able to recognize the device when you plug it into your laptop.
Open Device Manager identify the Unknown Device under PCI right click on it and select update driver. Then select the location of the driver browse to the folder where you downloaded the RANE SL1 drivers for Windows 10, click continue, you'll get a window asking you if you want to trust the driver click ok and you'll be good to go.

I got my SL1 working on a Lenovo X200s laptop with a Core2Duo CPU. I will test on my i7 desktop later and post the results here.

with the core2duo cpu you will not have problems as long as the usb ports work correctly

With the end of Windows 7 coming in 2020 I was compelled to phase out my beloved Samsung Chronos 7 and replace it with a Windows 10 computer. I got a Lenovo Thinkpad T490 with Windows 10 and I'm happy to say that it works with Scratch Live on my SL1 box and Rane 62 mixer.

@rhombus were there any hiccups with the setup of ScratchLive on your Windows 10 laptop? What version of ScratchLive did you install? Also what is the model of your CPU processor?

I tried the windows 8 compatibility to no avail and downloaded the drivers program but it says I need to register for $30 to download the driver needed for my "unknown device". Has anyone paid and downloaded the driver and did it work? I don't want to pay $30 just to have the same issue of not recognizing my old box. Thanks

It doesnt seem like a virus. Its from the link noted in another thread about this. It just says I cant download the driver until I register.

@worjak I have the SL1 drivers I can upload them tomorrow when I get home. May I suggest a fresh install of windows 10 pro much better than Windows 8. You can grab a key off ebay for 5-8 dollars.
