Apparently I can't use 2.0 on my OS because I'm running Yosemite. Anyone here tried it out? I downloaded it but I guess I'll hold off on the install for now.

It works, I have it installed on Yosemite on my late 2011 MBP 13.

It means, and as stated by one of the staff in another thread, that testing was done on the last 3 versions of MacOS however they still troubleshoot and assist users on Yosemite.

And considering you have dudes out here running SSL on High Sierra, you'll be ok.
When is it time to worry? When Apple and MS stop releasing security patches for your OS. Then it's time to consider upgrading.

I eneded up updating my OS to High Sierra and both Pro and SSL are working just fine for me. Guess I’m lucky.

This is great to hear. I just want to know if you can just install scratch live on high Sierra without any further tricks?

I installed it on Lion 10.7.5 just for shits and giggles - it runs (tied library organization stuff and practice player) but haven't played around with it with hardware connected yet.

I test installed HS on an extra drive and SL opened and worked just like it did on Sierra for me with no fixes.
